Sam is home and We are all happy!!

Well most of you know that Sam has ended his tour in Iraq. After his visit home he just was not happy when he went back to Iraq and so he decided to end his tour early. Well we are all happy that he is home...expecially Andrew!

So we have had Andrew for the past 2 weekends in a row so that he could have some time catching up with Daddy time. Sam was amazed how much he has grown! Andrew is talking in sentences and talks all the time. He loves Captain America and after a shopping trip with Grandma and Paw Paw to the local Walmarts we discovered that he also Loves Batman. I tried the mask on him in the store thinking that he would never keep it on his face...but I was wrong! Once it was on it would not come off $$$.
I told him to smile so I could take his picture...I was informed that "Batman don't smile".

For lunch we had French Bread Pizza that Paw Paw and Andrew made...I was informed that "Andrew Cooked".

While he is at the house we have to go swimming at least 2 times a day. In the morning before it gets too hot and them after 5 when the sun is not so intense. He is getting around in the pool pretty good and this weekend he ventured down to the deep end with Daddy. While he is swimming he lets everyone know who is swimming..."Daddy Swim, Paw Paw Swim and Andrew Swim"! Oh and of course "Grandma Swim"

Of course we have to play the "I see you " game with our sunglasses. I am having problems uploading movie of Sam and Andrew swimming so it will have to wait until another day.

Everyday he's shuffling

Click here to see the commercial he was watching

So this commercial came on the other day when Andrew was at the house and we discovered that he really likes it. We recorded it so we could play it over and over again. I love how he sticks his arms up. He had us laughing so hard we were all crying...unforunately I was able to film all of it but you will get the general idea.

So here is his dance:

Baby Andrew is growing fast

When we got Andrew this weekend he made sure we all new his name. He is growing up so fast and is so smart! I love the way he says Andrew Morrison.

He really enjoyed his swimming time this week end since he learned he can swim by himself if he wears his waterwings or "froggy" as he likes to call it. By Sunday he was actually jumping of the steps to me.

He also likes going to McDonalds to play and maybe have a french fry or shake.

It is really fun being able to spend time with him!

When going through my pictures of the past couple months I came accross this picture and realize there is only so much fun a person can handle....
The look in his eyes is like he is saying "don't you get it....I am TIRED" would you please put me to BED!!

Missing Daddy

Things have been really busy since the pool has been open. We have had something going every weekend since Sam left back for Iraq. This posting is going to be quick as I need to leave for work in the next 10 minutes! I was looking at some of the pictures that I took the last time we had Andrew and thought these were cute. When Sam came home on his leave he brought Andrew this little teddy bear that has the US and Iraq flag on his tummy. Andrew has been carrying it everywhere these past couple weekends.

I think he is like the rest of us....we all MISS YOU SAM!

Special bath time for Andrew

$4.00 at the dollar store + Dark Room + Warm Bath + Dirty Little Boy= Lots of Fun

I saw this idea the other day online and thought it would be so much fun! So I went to the dollar store and bought several dollars worth of glow sticks….drew a warm bath…then turned off the lights and called Andrew. He had a ball with it…of course all the glow sticks became swords! And then he tried to push them up the faucet. But overall it was really a lot of fun…Maybe next time I will have to take a bath with them after he goes to bed… J

Easter

Well time is spinning by so quickly… Seems like just yesterday I was counting the Day til GG (Great-Grandma Joan) would be here for a visit and then I blinked and she is already been here and gone. She was here for two major events: Andrew’s 2nd birthday and Easter. I personally could not have made it through these two events without her. Terry and I have been suffering with sinus and repertory infections and have been pretty sick for about 6 weeks.

Andrew loved all of his gifts for his birthday and really likes his play area. He actually learned how to open the sliding glass door leading to the back yard…if it is unlocked. We are going to fix him…I am going to find a kid proof one. Terry and I are going to have to hook up the pool guard so the alarm ring when the door is open…I sure that will scare him the first time it goes off!

He loves to use the hose to put water in his water table…ALL by himself. But also like to just water the grass and give the turtle a drink. And of course he can’t understand why he can climb up the slide…

Easter was fun this year with GG visiting us! She made her famous Spaghetti for Good Friday and Alyssa made the dessert. She took some peep bunnies and made our dessert a little more festive!!

Ray and Alyssa spent the rest of the afternoon swimming with the neighbor kids. By dinner Alyssa looked like all she wanted to do was go to bed.

Then we had our egg hunt after dinner. Ray informed me that he was just a little too old to do the egg hunt but I told him he had to do it for me and of course there was money in those eggs. Being the great kid he is he didn’t want to disappoint me so he participated. He was the winner and found the most eggs. I have a year to come up with another tradition to carry on with the older kids…

We got Elmo and Sponge Bob Eggs ( not sure they were really egg shape but...) for Andrew and hid them in plane site. He found all the eggs rather fast so Auntie Alexis took him in the yard and he actually found some of the older kids’ eggs! Over all I think they all enjoyed the day!

Simple Pleasures in Life

Andrew knows just how to spice up play time! He really loves playing in the yard and now he knows how to open the sliding glass door. Paw Paw fixed that on Saturday with a new lock for the back door beyond his reach...we got an angry face when he realized he couldn't open the door any more.

Fun Days

Thought this movie tells it all...its a special moment with Paw Paw and Andrew. I thought it was so precious!

Why is it that the simple things amaze us?

As our grandson grows it is funny how the simple things are so amazing or amusing to us! He's two and watching him eat a slice of pizza make Terry and I stare at him in awe…look at the way he whips that slice of pizza into his mouth.

He was over last weekend and we were all sitting outside watching him play in his play area. We all had a bottle of water and he wanted a drink. I was sure he would chock if he did it himself…but to my surprise he can handle a bottle of water just fine!

He loves to celebrate the moment with a little cheer! It must be our age but it is so wonderful watching him grow up!

Happy Birthday to my April Surprise!!

Well Yesterday we celebrated Andrew 2nd Birthday and I am totally exhausted. I plan on uploading a few pictures so you can see but more will follow.

Daddy was able to skype in for the cake and opening the presents!!
Then we had time to play with the new toys!! FUN FUN FUN!!

I think the day was a big sucess!! Again in ended with Andrew falling asleep in his favorite spot! More cute stories and movie links will follow when I am more rested to tell them and once I figure out how to upload the movies.
Special Note: My camera is only 3 years old and I finally figured out how to take movies with it however I took them all sideways...note to self when doing movies keep camera upright!! lol

Not sure I am ready....

Well my mother in law arrives today and I am not sure I am ready… Last weekend having all 3 of the grandkids put me behind in my house cleaning! Plus Andrew always shares his repertory infections with me. After our outings on Saturday we decided to stay home and do crafts on Sunday. Kids played their games and we painted and made decorations for Easter.

We skyped with Sam and found Andrew likes to put money in his bank while we are talking (it keeps him at the table for a while) once the money runs out so does he… About 5 minutes into the call he runs to the living room to get a toy and when he returned to the room he gave me a funny look and then threw up all over us…right in front of daddy. So we said a quick goodbye and had to clean us up!

The rest of the day was uneventful just had a cuddly baby that wanted Maw Maw to do nothing but hold him and watch Bubble Guppies. I couldn’t take a break to even get a cute picture without this…
Well that is all for now! Love you all!

Week-end rolled by so fast!

This past weekend we had all three grandkids! We had so much fun. We decided to take Ray and Alyssa roller skating since we heard that they had never been before…just not sure how that is possible. Growing up and even when we were in college Terry and I spend so much time at the roller ring! We were excited about getting back in the ring ourselves…has to be like riding a bike, right! Well let me tell you when you haven’t been skating for 20 years it is like learning it all again.

We only had a couple collisions before we even made it to the ring. When getting her skates Alyssa dropped one of them right on my foot and I was wearing sandals…boy did it hurt. But when I got my skates on she was watching me try to skate for the first time and when I got by her I lost my balance and my arms instantly went up in the air and smacked her in the nose. I apologized and hugged her and whispered in her ear, “paybacks are hell” and we both laughed.

So we all have our skates on and Andrew is all set at the game area so Terry decided to take the older kids around the ring….and away they go…Hugging the wall all the way around. One time around the ring and Ray and Alyssa are ready to go home.

Then when it was my turn to go on the ring no one wanted to go with me L Wow it was so hard, how can this be? I use to skate all the time and was rather good at it…now I am a Wall Hugger too???

We were going to rent the kids skating walkers (they did not make them big enough for me or I would have gotten one for Terry and Me!) but one of the instructors came by and said they were really too old for them. She took the kids aside and gave them some instructions and then pulled them out on the floor again. Within the next hour they were doing really well, skating in the middle of the ring!

Terry and I took turns hanging out with Andrew. He had a great time until people started coming and actually using the games which meant he was limited to what he could use.

Over all the trip was a success, I think everyone really enjoyed themselves! And Terry and I did not break or injure anything!!

I am so glad that I hold the Camera...so they didn't get pictures of me falling...lol!

National Brothers Week

My Brothers were my first male friend in life. No one will ever understand my craziness like my brother! We can communicate with a single look and laugh so much my jaws ache. Even though we don’t get together or talk as much as I would like...I know he will always remain my friend and will always be the first to help me in time of troubles. While people come and go in my life, my brothers will always be in my heart for a lifetime!

I love you all so very much....

Exhausting Weekend!

Well we have had a busy and expensive week. I wish I could say that I bought tickets for a vacation Cruise but not this time. Terry has only be back to work for 2 ½ weeks so it will be a few more months before we can even think about a vacation. Not to mention if this money pit of ours doesn’t stop eating up our extra cash we may not get a vacation this year.
Some of you may know that our Air conditioner unit broke down on one of the hottest days last summer and so in 105+ we were without air for 2 days and really couldn’t leave the house while they replaced the outside unit. The really sad part was that the unit broke down 2 day after the warranty expired. Well the inside unit died this year…. At least it was only 75 degrees this time! Still Mojito time!
Finally had a week end where it was not raining so we got outside yesterday and did some yard work. The drought last year killed off about 5 of our trees/bushes and there are about 4 that are completely dead. So we spend most of yesterday pruning and pulling up the dead ones hoping that some of the pruny ones can come back to life. I felt so bad for Terry! It was about 80 degrees today! We go from winter to summer these days.
We also began working on Andrew Birthday present from us…A play area in the backyard! More updates on this by his birthday!

So by the time we finished all the yard work we were both totally drained! After we got our shower and got ready to set down and relax we discovered that Terry new glasses were gone! We tore the house appart looking for them and retraced our tracks outside looking for them...but no luck! Looks like we will be ordering him a new pair...ughhh! We really hate that we are getting old and can't keep track of our stuff! Oh well things will get better!
